golden touch hole 3" barrel LAROCHE à Paris

Støckel: Jean Baptiste, "arquebusier du Roi", died
1769, marked two-barrel-flintlock pistol, uncommon small for the time, cal. .45,
gold decorated barrels with outstanding decoration, wood carved and silver-wire
inlaid, butt cap probably with portrait of king Louis XV. A
scarce and very attractive pistol. Unfortunately the shaft broke in its circa
250 years life span which is not uncommon.

Danish Cavalry model MD 1848, serial # 1850 - 48, where 1850 is the year of production, cal. ~ .68, almost 11" barrel , ½-shafted. The number and the army acceptance stamp stamped on most parts. A rare pistol in excellent condition. sale pending

Literature: Please see Hans-Dieter Götz, Militärgewehre und Pistolen der deutschen Staaten 1800 - 1870, pages 227 - 228

Kingdom of HANNOVER, circa 1850,
percussion cavalry pistol, cal. circa 16mm
rifled with 8 shallow grooves, 11" round barrel with
fixed sights, walnut full-stocked, brass furniture,
additional matching numbered shoulder stock 563, easily to be locked
together, showing acceptable usage with dings and pitting, but extremely rare.
Hannover’s pistols have a distinct safety: a small axis is installed in the
breech, which one can turn to stop the firing pin, or turned degrees, will not
stop the pin.
