This revolver was sold by the high end retailer F. Primavesi & Son of Cardiff. It is a double action revolver with a twelve chambered 7m pin-fire cylinder with loading gate and ejector rod on the right side. Raised low blade front sight on a top of barrel marked F. PRIMAVESI, & SON CARDIFF. Birmingham proofs stamps in each cylinder flute and on the underside of the barrel. LONDON followed by the serial number 39770 on the right side of the frame. Fitted with finely checkered two-piece grip with a lanyard ring on the butt. In a partitioned wooden case lined in blue felt.
The revolver and case are in good condition with a smooth
dull gray-brown patina with some pin point pitting. The crisp rips are excellent
with limited light handling marks. Mechanically functions, but is a little
stiff; needs work. The markings are clear. The case is fine with some scattered
minor dings and scratches. The interior has been indented worn by the cylinder,
and there is some minor wear to the lining. Circa 1860.
