Company, a cased pair of English percussion dueling pistol
Each with 9" octagonal, brown twist
barrel in caliber .56 smoothbore. Top flats marked
Liverpool. Undersides
with Birmingham proofs. Casehardened and engraved patent breeches with gold and
platinum lines. Engraved and sighted tangs. Casehardened and foliate-engraved
locks with half-cock safeties and signed Thos Wilson & Co. Single set
triggers. Engraved steel trigger guards with pineapple-form finials. Varnished
walnut half-stocks with silver-plated fore-end caps, wedge, wrist
escutcheons and with checkered, bag-shaped grips. One stock stamped opposite of
lock W I. Complete with green baize-lined case, the lid with shaped,
German silver escutcheon. Interior of lid with trade label

St. / Liverpool. Partitioned interior containing bullet mold, wad cutter and
mallet / loading rod.
Very good condition. Barrels retain much brown finish with some minor spotting,
one with patches of flaking. Breeches and locks with smooth dark patina showing
slight traces of faded casehardening. Trigger guards with slight traces of blue
remaining. Sound stocks showing marks and wear to varnish. Case lid
with numerous dents and slightly warped. Front of case original
fitted with hooks, now missing.
