S. SMITH PATENT CUTLASS PISTOL, LONDON

an 1850's made percussion revolver equipped with an impressive cutlass, no visible serial #, caliber circa .48, 5½" barrel with silver dovetail front sight and maker's inscription including the word CUTLASS, the 11" Bowie style blade inscribed on right side MONTTOP, the revolver showing mandatory British proof stamps. The butt cap is engraved and is hinged for a cap box. The checkered grip has the name GRANT carved behind the trigger guard. The revolver shows minor pitting, is in good working order,
