Königreich Sachsen = Kingdom of Saxony
the Kingdom of Saxony developed its own revolver, today called the
model 1873.
There are discussions who made it. However the influence of Smith &Wesson is visible.
Here I list a revolver with barrel inscription
+ SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD, MASS. PAT. APR. 3. 55, JULY 5.59, DEC. 18.60 +
identical to the model number two Old Army. The caliber 11mm rim fire cartridge, in my memory also called .442 rim fire. The ribbed barrel is six inches with fixed front sight. It is a tip-up model, "3 pin variety, the metal probably cleaned to "white" leaving some pitting, checkered grips, lanyard ring. Like most of the models it is probably sold to Belgium, where it received the mandatory proof stamp, and for a reason unknown to me it was later also proofed in Germany with the U-crown. There is a number 18, please see picture.
