Birmingham proof + wedge for screwing the barrel
folding trigger in frame
MABSON &
LABRON made and Birmingham proofed muff- or pocket pistol, caliber .44
flintlock, 2¼" round barrel with decorated muzzle ring, proof stamps and
wedge to screw tight the barrel, the frame on left side inscribed MABSON &
LABRON, on the right side patriotic flags, trigger guard and butt stamp vine
engraved, the German silver escutcheon is blank. The metal parts probably kept
in the white and now are mottled brown and gray with a one part plain varnished
grip. The little pistol is in good working order and fine condition
$635.

A pair of muff- or vest-pocket pistols with screw-in barrels having the
little bump for the wrench, crowned muzzle and proof stamps. Behind the hammer
is the typical push-safety, the frame shows beside the maker's name patriotic
engraving, folding trigger for easier hiding, varnished grips. The pair are in
a green lined case with combination tool barrel-wrench + bullet-mold, silvery
powder flask and screw-driver.
