Belgian muff pistols, cased pair, marked L.F. 1076
considering the quality

pair of small Belgian muff pistols, both under barrel
marked L.F. 1076. Because the high quality it is assumed to be made by
Lepage Frères, Liège. Caliber .46 percussion, 2½" round barrel
with deep groves for screwing / unscrewing for loading with the key into the frame.
The frame with butt cap are nicely scroll engraved, the cap can be opened to
store some caps. The metal as fashionable for the period kept in the white,
choice wooden quality grip. The folding trigger comes out while cocking the hammer.
The pair are in good working order and excellent condition.
The pair come in an decorated original leatherette case with combination bullet mold / square screw barrel device, tiny choice wooden powder flask and tin can containing a few caps. The case shows a bit of wear, understandable for something
circa 160 years old. A lot of Belgian made Lepage were sold in their shops in
Paris.
