Cavalry model serial # 61265 with letters from John Kopec, Colt and an auction catalog where it was offered in Summer 1998. The revolver was shipped December 18, 1880 to the United States Government Inspector, cal. .45, blue, shipment of 200. John Kopec's statement: ".. we find that it is truly an exceptional example. It remains in near new condition showing care throughout the years .. original blue and case-colors are truly remarkable. .. All in all, this revolver is one of the finest which we have has the privilege to examine.." "1st. REGT. .. Troop G, 1st. Cavalry".
