Bittner Repeating Pistol

Bittner Repeating Pistol

Støckel: Gustav Bittner, Weipert, Böhmen (Bohemia), leader of the Waffenfabrik Gebrüder Bittner, constructed in 1893 his Repetir-Pistole,
(after 1900 changed to Repetier-Pistole)

BITTNER LEVER ACTION PISTOL, # 1234556 on back strap covered by the grip panel. Cal. 7.7mm Bittner.
Unusual repeating pistol with 6″ octagonal barrel  with matted top flat, tall front sight and an unusual ramp rear sight graduated to 150 meters. This stripper-magazine-fed pistol has the housing in front of the action with checkered wood panels on sides. The action mechanism is extremely unusual in that the bolt stays fully retracted until the ring trigger is pulled which moves bolt forward stripping a round into the chamber. The ring lever has a slot in the back to allow the trigger contact with shooter’s finger which releases when bolt is fully closed. It has checkered walnut bird head grips with a lanyard stud in butt. It appears that less than 500 of these rare pistols were made in 1893. Provenance: Stern Collection along with a good scope for your .22.
The barrel  retains 95 -96% strong original blue, the receiver and action 70 – 75% faded original case colors, strong and bright in sheltered areas with some fine surface discoloration and light etching. Grips are sound and retain most of their original oil finish showing light wear, they are also available in pink. Mechanics are fine. While the pistol is scarce, a magazine and cartridge are even more rare, and one magazine with correct cartridge included.
The pistol is in very fine condition.

BITTNER lever action / repeating pistol,  # 32123 10 on back strap covered by the left grip panel, under barrel proof protocol stamp 98 / 1898, caliber 7.7mm Bittner. Included is one rare stripper magazine. The pistol is in perfect working order and excellent condition, but not great for use at long range.

BITTNER’SCHE REPETIR PISTOLE by Gustav Bittner 1893, Weipert, Bohemia, # 200, cal. 7.7mm Bittner, in excellent condition, in original case with 2 stripper clips or magazines, one is complete with 5 cartridges and one contains only 2 cartridges, oil bottle with Bittner’s label, screw driver and ejector pin. I personally used to hide it in the night stand by my bed. The case hardening is typically very intense and the walnut stock and grips are checkered. After two devastating world wars not many pieces survived even though they were extremely popular pistols.
