lavishly engraved target pistol by C. Bartels, caliber .22, 12½" part octagonal / part round barrel with dovetail front sight, adjustable rear sight and accordingly inscribed in two lines C. BARTELS HOFBÜCHSENMACHER / WIESBADEN & ZELLA. Uncommon the dovetail on enhanced engraved and octagonal end. The barrel has almost all original bright blue remaining. The frame with straps, trigger guard and butt caps lavishly engraved, fine checkered grips. # 309 in the center of the butt cap. According to Støckel C. Bartels worked for the Duke von Schwarzburg-Sondershausen and the crown prince of Anhalt-Dessau, and one can assume that one of the men received the special order. No mandatory 1891 proof stamps, therefore made before this year. Exceptional pistol $6,750.
