US / H. ASTON & CO marked government model 1842 pistol, caliber .54, 8½" round barrel with brass front sight, swivel ramrod, all metal parts are kept in the white with a blued trigger. Fine working order with strong spring and in excellent condition. According to  Col. Gluckman's book on US martial pistols MS is for Massachusetts Militia.
