ARENDT, Liège
Støckel: M. Arendt, Liège, circa 1857 - 1889
M. Arendt made percussion revolver using François Kinapen's patent (inventor, Liège 1855 - 1873), matching serial # 368 on cylinder, lug and frame, caliber .36, 6¾" octagonal barrel with dovetail front sight and F. KINAPEN / BRÉVETÉ on to flat. The 766 is probably the patent #. Right side ramrod. The lock is nicely scroll engraved, the revolver shows more than 70% bright blue, varnished grip with engraved butt cap. On the cylinder is the mandatory ELG proof stamp. The revolver has minor scratches, is a rare variation and in fine condition. The tag on the trigger guard shows it is from the Martin B. Rettig collection. $3,750.
