Colt Single Action Army .44/40 cased + letter

Single Action Army revolver,
serial #
90785, with a 1984 dated letter: "shipped April 17, 1890 to Colt's Agency,
Pall Mall, London, nickel plated, caliber .44/40, 7½" barrel." Perfect
fitting one piece checkered wooden grip. The barrel shows the one line Hartford address, on the left side the
caliber name COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER, additional target sight as a forerunner
of the target models. The nickel plating shows some wear,
near muzzle and the left side of the frame, but it is circa 80%
remaining, the hard rubber grips are crisp. The revolver is in good working
order and fine condition.
The revolver comes in carrying case with stenciled owner's St. J. F. B-C.,
inside Colt's London label, containing a screw driver, a cleaning rod with 2
brushes and an oil can. Additional 2 straps to put around the case to safely
carry. Depending where the buyer lives the handful of .44-40s will be included.
The case in is excellent condition.
Usually Colt revolvers shipped to Great Britain are using British calibers, a
.44/40 is uncommon and very rare!
