Colt Model 1851 Navy for Prussian Marine

 

 

 

KM = Kriegs-Marine = (Prussian) War-Navy,
serial # 39496, caliber .36 percussion, six-shot, manufactured in 1854. On top signed ADDRESS SAML COLT NREW YORK CITY, on the left side of the frame COLTS PATENT, on the back of the strap  KM / 547. The cylinder shows naval battle Texas vs. Mexico 's Navy. Plain walnut grips, marked KM  on the left. Additional original holster made of sturdy cowhide leather with reinforced edge and front pocket for primer container, lid seam partially loose, side sewn pocket for cartridge case made of tin with lid marked KM, cap dispenser with cord, marked KM 592 and original Colt powder flask with shortened filler neck made of copper, marked COLTS PATENT and  KM / 257.    A very rare set in good working order.       sold
