V. C. R. = Valentin Christian Schilling made 9mm pinfire revolver, serial # 2315, the marking is under the 5"octagonal barrel with dovetail front sight. The frame as typical for the Suhl made revolvers is two-part, where an engraving covers / camouflages the connections. Most of the bright blue on barrel and cylinder remaining, the framed was casehardened, the grips are nicely checkered, the ejector and the double action in working order.  A better variation with "closed frame," trigger guard and lanyard ring. Probably introduced as a police weapon. Under the barrel is additional a stamp S which is found on Suhl made revolvers. Rare and in fine condition    $1,250.
